This is called the One Boat Golf Club on Ascension Island - it was the old Georgetown 9 hole course that was referred to as the World`s Worst.
It fell into disuse in the mid 90s after they had heavy rain on the islnad
over Georgetown (our small capital) resulting in long grass all over the
course. As the ground is normally rocky ash, it was impossible to cut and
hence "grass made the course unplayable"! until such time as it all dried
up and blew away. In the meantime, folk had got used to just using the main
course at One Boat and never really bothered again with the old and
original course down in Georgetown.


We are very happy that this out of the way course has become a part of this itsgolfworld's golf site and in the words of Johnny

The old 9 hole course - now out of action - was once in the Guinmess Book Of
Records as The World`s Worse Golf Course.!
